Antique Hinged Japanese Black Lacquer Box Hand Painted Bird Flower Bug Vintage

Description

Antique / Vintage Japanese Black Lacquer hand painted box with key hole but no key.
The box has a beautiful hand painted design on the lid, of a bird sitting amongst foliage, with large flower in the foreground and another smaller flower on the left with a bug with red and black color on a leaf.
The hand painted work is done in golds and silver except for the bug that also has red, and this is all done on a black background.
There is also hand painted work all around all the sides of the bottom part of the box.
Condition is good but with some signs of wear from age such as some of the black lacquer background has flaked mostly around the corners.
The box measures 8" X 6" X 4" high.
